An Introduction to Core Process Psychotherapy

A two day workshop with Maura Sills

An opportunity to work with one of the UK’s leading psychotherapy educators

Saturday 13 May 2017 9am-6pm
And Sunday 14 May 2017 9am-3pm

Venue: Hampden House, Withington, Manchester, M20 3JA
This two-day introductory workshop in Manchester is a CPD opportunity for practising therapists and counsellors, and will also be of interest to meditators. It is suitable for anyone interested in applying for the Core Process Psychotherapy Foundation Course, the Diploma in Relational Mindfulness, the MA in Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy or the Post-Qualification MA in Mindfulness Based Psychotherapeutic Practice [full details at www.karuna-institute.co.uk]. This is an experiential workshop in which the learning process is anchored in direct experience and relationship. This is an opportunity to explore the link between the spiritual and the psychological.

The workshop is intended for those seeking to deepen their awareness of mindfulness practice in relation to counselling and psychotherapy or to any other area of personal, workplace or community life. Through participation in talks, discussions and experiential processes, we will explore how developing contemplative presence-in-relationship clarifies and deepens our personal, interpersonal and clinical lives. Drawing upon mindful-awareness, early developmental relationship theory and Buddhist psychology we will explore aspects of our human potential, and the loops and knots of confusion and unhappiness in which we can become entangled.

Core Process Psychotherapy offers an innovative psycho-spiritual approach to counselling and psychotherapy. It is rooted in Buddhist psychology and mindfulness practice, informed by Western psychotherapeutic theory and approaches – all grounded in the belief and experience that awareness is inherently healing. Core Process Psychotherapy focuses on how relational mindfulness and creativity can be accessed and utilised to help dissolve patterns of developmental arrest and self-limitation. Maura Sills is the Founder of Core Process Psychotherapy, a UKCP accredited psychotherapy modality, and a founder member, with Franklyn Sills, of the Karuna Institute in 1984. She is an Honorary Fellow of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and Director of Training at the Karuna Institute.
